T’s First Vacation

Last month we brought T on her very first vacation ever. It’s not her first time travelling, but I guess it could be her very first vacation trip 🙂

We went up north to Penang!

Conquering the giant bed…. all mine!

We stayed at Bayview Beach Resort, which has a nice pool, garden and lovely beach. The beds are really huge too! So T could sleep comfortably in between us without any one of us having to sleep on the edge of the bed 😂

Claiming her throne….

Since the weather is super hot in Penang, I spent a day alone with her in the hotel while the others went out sightseeing. We had walks at the beach, walks around the hotel, and enjoying the soft bed and aircond in the room.

Wow look at the mess I’ve made!

Let’s go for a picnic, mom!!

Playing is such hard work, I’m tired now….

Let’s take a nap first…. before anyone gets cranky!

My first time at the beach!

T enjoyed the beach, but she did not really enjoy swimming in the hotel pool. Probably she was too tired and sleepy as she had her poker face on the whole time in the pool and fell asleep as soon as we got back to the hotel room and showered her. Felt a tad disappointed because I thought she would love splashing around in the pool.

Overall, it was a good trip, despite T crying all the way in the car during the journey to Penang. But she slept through the journey back from Penang. It’s not really convenient to bring her out for meals and sightseeing though (hot weather and lack of places to nurse). The hotel however, is quite kid friendly.

My Lovely Valentines

Happy Valentine’s to my little sweetheart… my little baby bunny 😘😘

I never knew I could love another human being this much until I carried you in my tummy and saw you for the first time after you came out. You have filled my days with joy (and sleeplessness, and frustration, and others) and made my life complete. You are my little miracle 🙂

And Happy Valentine’s to T’s wonderful daddy also. Thank you for putting up with all my nonsense and still love me despite me being an asshole sometimes. T’s daddy is not a romantic person who would buy flowers or chocolates (ok, sometimes he would if I nag him to buy some to satisfy my sweet tooth), but he would do lovely things everyday like:

  1. Fill up my car when fuel is running low so that I won’t need to make a trip to the station.
  2. Reload my touchngo card so I won’t get stuck at the toll booth cos I’m such a forgetful person
  3. Wash the milk bottles and breast pump at night so that I don’t have to.
  4. Walk the dogs so I can get more rest
  5. Ask me if I need any help even though I’m being an asshole and spitting fire like a dragon on tomyum overdose… 😦

And a whole load more of things he has done that I’m grateful for. Well, everyday is Valentine’s day but for today I would just like to express my gratitude to my better half. Although we sometimes fight and disagree with each other, but I love him from the bottom of my heart ❤️

We spent tonight (unromantically) trying to make T’s passport but failed to, as she would need to get her passport done at the immigration HQ. We’ll be travelling with T on her first overseas trip at the end of this year! Can’t wait… 😍 meanwhile, got to work hard on saving up as all the travelling is gonna do some pretty hard damage on our poor wallets…

Breastfeeding Room at Kuching International Airport

Travelling with T recently, I had to look for nursing rooms at the airports to nurse her as she would not take a bottle from me. Plus, it was even harder looking for hot water dispenser at the airports!

I found the breastfeeding room at Kuching International Airport to be way better than the ones at KLIA. Although small, but there is more than enough space inside to sit and nurse comfortably, there is also a changing station and sink for changing your baby. Plus, the room can be locked for privacy and only a nursing mom is allowed inside. I did not quite like the nursing rooms at KLIA as the doors can’t be locked and there are only curtains for privacy. There were people coming in and out of the rooms and even talking loudly!

Kuching International Airport’s breastfeeding room is quite comfortable enough to nurse in privacy.

There is also a small corner table with pamphlets on breastfeeding from the local hospital and health ministry. Unfortunately, there is no hot water dispenser which would be very helpful for moms who need to make a bottle of formula or warm up a bottle of expressed breastmilk 😦 In fact, I actually found it quite difficult to find a hot water dispenser at both KLIA and KIA.

The room is located next to the ladies washroom after Coffee Bean at the departure hall (follow the nappy change room signage). Well done to the airport management, Sarawak government and health ministry for supporting breastfeeding by providing this facility. Although, from my observation, it seems to be pretty under utilised.
